MYCELIA SERIES, WIP / LIVE DRAWINGS 30/30

Ink on paper

Double roots and inverted growth make these drawing series emblematic of ecological, social, and ideological multiplicity: growth that is both anarchic and constructive.

Recent research confirms what this vision intuits: trees communicate through mycorrhizal networks, a vast underground system of fungal threads connecting plant roots, and allowing them to share vital resources and information.

By rendering trees with double roots and inverted growth, the drawings collapse distinctions between plant and fungus, surface and depth, autonomy and interdependence: from vertical dominance to depth resonance, from stable identity to shared becoming. They invite the viewer to encounter life not as structure, but as relation in motion. Rhizomes are narcissistic and neurotic. Mycorrhizal networks based on mycelia are creative and collective.
